Blended MBA offers quality program in flexible, convenient format
Oakland University's School of Business Administration has introduced a new program that offers students the combined benefits of both online and in-house instruction. The blended MBA program addresses students' need for flexibility, as well as faculty members' desire to offer advanced electives in an interactive classroom setting.
"The blended MBA at Oakland University uses a hybrid model to deliver its internationally accredited (AACSB) business education to professionals with either a business or a non-business undergraduate education," SBA Dean Mohan Tanniru said. "The MBA program at OU's SBA complements professional experience by offering an understanding across business disciplines: accounting, finance, operations, marketing, technology, strategy and more."
MBA courses are taught by expert faculty and business executives. The blended MBA program offers numerous electives and a variety of concentrations, from international business to entrepreneurship.
More than half of the program will be available online by Summer 2013, with remaining courses offered on OU's campus in Rochester, Mich. The program is also available at OU's Anton/Frankel Center in Mount Clemens, Mich.
Students may enroll now for classes that start this fall. Out-of-state students enrolled in the blended program for the 2012-13 academic year are eligible for in-state tuition rates.
Courses in the blended program offer the same advantages as the SBA's established and respected MBA program, and provide MBA candidates the right balance of theory and practice. Interactive, integrative courses; networking with peers, executives and faculty experts; consulting on business projects; and cross-cultural experience create a rigorous program that offers a true blend of academic and leadership experience.
In addition to online instruction, students will have online access to registration, program advisors, mentoring support, course instructors, relevant course material and other students.
"This is especially cost effective for international students, and convenient for working professionals from around the country and the world who may spend a limited time in southeast Michigan," Tanniru said.
The blended MBA program is the second hybrid offering the SBA has introduced. It joins the recently introduced blended program for the Master of Science in Information Technology Management, Business Analytics track.
The SBA is one of only 170 business schools out of 8,000 worldwide accredited by AACSB in both business and accounting. For more information on its new blended MBA program, visit oakland.edu/blendedmba or call the SBA Graduate Programs office at (248) 370-3287.
