Campus improvement and paving projects now underway
In the coming months, Oakland University’s Facilities Management has a full slate of campus improvement projects planned.
This summer, priority projects include:
A new three-story clubhouse at OU’s Katke-Cousins Golf Course thanks to a generous donation from longtime university benefactor Stephan Sharf.
Repairs to roads, parking lots and sidewalks around campus.
Expanded parking in lots P-1 and P-32. More than 130 new spaces will be added.
Department of Health Sciences and School of Nursing moved to the new Human Health Building.
Enhancements to Wilson Hall’s east entrance.
Fire safety upgrades in the Recreation Center, Oakland Center and Kresge Library.
Mechanical projects in Dodge Hall, Varner Hall, North Foundation Hall, Pawley Hall, Elliott Hall, Hannah Hall, Kresge Library and Shotwell-Gustafson Pavilion.
Renovations in John Dodge House.
Curtain wall replacement and mechanical work in O’ Dowd Hall.
Replacement of Bear Lake fountains and main entrance sign.
Additionally, three paving projects are slated, which will affect parking lots around campus. All three projects are scheduled for completion on Friday, July 6.
North side of parking lot P-32 will be under construction beginning Thursday, June 7.
West side of parking lot P-1 will be under construction beginning Monday, June 11.
Parking lot P-43 will be completely closed beginning Tuesday, June 12.
