Theatre group to stage "Italian American Reconciliation" at OU
The Epicenter Theatre Group will stage a production of John Patrick Shanley’s folktale drama “Italian American Reconciliation” in Varner Studio Theatre on Oakland University’s campus.
Entering a world familiar to fans of his screenplay for "Moonstruck," Shanley's comedy tells the story of best friends Aldo and Huey. When Huey decides he wants to break off his relationship with a wonderful girl to go back to his ex-wife, Aldo gets comically involved. A dog, a gun and a music box figure in.
The talented cast includes several members of the Oakland community, such as alumni Lauren Knox, Erin Edgerton and Marco Zaccagnini. Others with OU ties include theatre faculty members Karen Sheridan, who is the guest director, and Kerro Knox, the lighting designer.
The production will run from Thursday, May 31, through Sunday, June 10, with the following performances:
Thursday, May 31, at 8 p.m.
Friday, June 1, at 8 p.m.
Saturday, June 2, at 8 p.m.
Thursday, June 7, at 8 p.m.
Friday, June 8, at 8 p.m.
Saturday, June 9, at 8 p.m.
Sunday, June 10, at 2 p.m.
Tickets are $10 for students and $15 for adults. They can be purchased online at epicentertheatregroup.org or at the door an hour before the show.
