SON honors Michigan nurses with 24th Annual Nightingale Awards

Nurses play a vital role in America's health care system, and many offer exceptional care that goes above and beyond traditional responsibilities. To honor such individuals, Oakland University's School of Nursing and its Board of Visitors recognized nurses from throughout Michigan at the 24th Annual Nightingale Awards for Nursing® Excellence this May at the San Marino Club in Troy.

On-air personality Cyndy Canty once again emceed the elegant evening that included a sit down dinner, silent auction and raffle. High bidders left with coveted items such as a seven-day cruise to the Caribbean, a trip to the Grand Hotel on Mackinaw Island, intricate jewelry and many other exciting items.

More than 600 nurses, physicians, nurse administrators, family members and friends of winners and runners-up attended this year's awards ceremony.
