The Oakland University Alumni Association continues its work to ensure that more students are able to achieve their dream of pursuing an OU degree through the OUAA Scholarship program.
From nearly 200 applications for the 2012-2013 academic year, 20 recipients were selected to receive a total of $57,000 in awards. More than $1 million in scholarships has been awarded by the OUAA to qualified students.
Funding for this ambitious scholarship initiative is raised through the generous donations of OUAA members and through revenue generated at OUAA events and programs like the Grizzly Gala and annual OUAA Golf Challenge.
To be eligible, students must exhibit high levels of academic achievement and submit an application, resume and two letters of recommendation. Among other criteria, applicants are graded on their academic merits, leadership activities and community service.
