Oakland University President Gary Russi has announced the appointment of Senior Associate Provost Dr. Susan Awbrey to the position of interim senior vice president for academic affairs and provost, effective immediately.
Dr. Awbrey replaces Dr. Virinder Moudgil, who after serving the university for 36 years has accepted a position as president of Lawrence Technological University. In her new position, Dr. Awbrey will run the day-to-day business of the Division of Academic Affairs.
"She has outstanding leadership abilities and has spent most of her career in various key academic and administrative roles," Dr. Russi said. "I'm confident that Dr. Awbrey will do a tremendous job during this important transition period."
In related news, Dr. Russi announced that a reception honoring Dr. Moudgil will take place at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 30. More information on that event will be released as it becomes available.
Senior Associate Provost Dr. Susan Awbrey has been named to the position and her tenure is effective immediately.
