New studio art animation course to debut this summer
This summer, Oakland University’s Department of Art and Art History will unveil a new course for students interested in learning about animation. Studio Art 392 is a special topics course in experimental animation. The class will focus on two-dimensional animation techniques, grounded in a fine arts perspective.
It is designed for students in the studio arts and may be of interest to those pursuing a minor in film studies.
The course has no prerequisites, but basic digital skills are helpful, such as familiarity with Adobe Photoshop and Apple Final Cut, and shooting, uploading and printing digital photos. Drawing and painting abilities are also useful for the class.
