OUAA invites all to a night of fun, food and scholarship fundraising
The Oakland University Alumni Association invites alumni, friends, supporters and community members to enjoy an unforgettable night of food and fun, while at the same time helping to ensure that more students can achieve their dream of obtaining a college education.
The Grizzly Gala – set for Friday, April 20, at the Royal Park Hotel in downtown Rochester – will raise funds to support the OUAA Scholarship Program. To date, this program has distributed more than $1 million to qualified students. In 2011 alone, nearly $90,000 in scholarships was given to 39 deserving students.
These tremendous achievements have been made possible as a result of generous donations from alumni and community members, as well as revenue earned from OUAA events and programs. At the upcoming gala, the organization hopes to raise more than $25,000 in support for the scholarship program.
OU alumna and Local 4 Newscaster Lauren Podell will lend her talents to the evening as emcee. There will be a strolling dinner, live entertainment and exciting auction items like a Detroit Tigers "Ultimate Fan Experience" package, two tickets to the Ellen DeGeneres show, and a Chicago weekend getaway.
