Families with children who have special needs or disabilities face bigger hurdles than most people when it comes to planning for their financial futures. No matter what the age or disability, parents of children with special needs tackle many serious questions about how they can best provide for their child’s future and well-being, and these unique considerations affect a number of legal, medical and financial issues.
The Office of Planned Giving will be hosting an informational evening seminar, where local professionals will discuss key financial and legal tools used to protect the future of your special needs family member. Come learn how to identify potential financial shortfalls intended to sustain treatments and preserve quality of life. The seminar will also cover how to protect government assistance, and how special needs trusts can be used to provide for education, transportation, rehabilitation, insurance, and many other life-enhancing services.
Join us for a light dinner and this informative seminar on Monday, April 30th from 5:30 - 7 p.m. in the Oakland Center Gold Rooms. Seating is limited, so reservations are required. RSVP by April 25th to Karis Battle at ksbattle@oakland.edu or (248)364-6158.
