Cabaret acts to come to life with OU students' talent and imagination
Oakland University students will bring personal dialogue, song and story to the stage as part of a series of imaginative, honest and entertaining cabaret performances at The Orchid Nightclub in Ferndale.
Under the direction of OU Associate Professor Fred Love and musical direction of Alissa Hetzner, the students will present one-person shows that invite audience members to share their unique journeys through the creative process. Each student will be accompanied by a four-piece jazz combo.

Emily Callahan – "A Cabaret Featuring Lil Emmy"
Amanda Ryskamp – "Before I Go…."
Natalie Sparbeck – "Made in the 'D'"
Sam Rohloff & Grace Griffin – "Ring the Alarm"
Emily Stys – "A Cabaret"
Elizabeth Fritsch – "What the Fritsch?"
Zachary Rogers – "A Friend in Me"
Joseph Boehnlein – "Don't Cry for Me"
David Vogel – "Parental Advisory Required"
Line-ups of five to six 20-minute acts will take place over four nights – Sunday, April 8, through Wednesday, April 11. Sunday and Monday acts will be repeated on Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively. Doors will open at 7 p.m. and performances will begin at 8 p.m. There will be a $10 cover charge for the general public and $5 for students with ID.
