The Fireside Growth Series is interactive and designed to educate emerging entrepreneurs on the trials and tribulations of creating a successful business, with real stories of business success. During each session, presented by a successful entrepreneur, the speaker will discuss challenges, solutions and successes; they will tell their story!

Bruce Burton, a successful entrepreneur and mechanical engineer by training, founded Avidasports, a company that is pioneering the development of "athletic telemetry," in 2009. The revolutionary science is able to deliver real-time athletic feedback to coaches and athletes as they train. Burton holds multiple patents on the technology he developed for athletic telemetry sensor devices and related products. Avidasports was not Burton's first success; he also founded Burtek, an engineering and defense contracting company in Macomb County. He built the business and created 500 jobs before selling Burtek in 2008 and subsequently founding MilAIR, LLC, a defense contracting company. Come hear his story!
