"Lunch & Launch" continues with talk on leveraging social media

After a tremendously successful debut, the Lunch & Launch series at the Macomb-OU INCubator will continue on Thursday, March 8. David Murray, director of social media for Moncur Associates, will once again engage the audience with his knowledge – this time on the critical subject of return on investment for social media.

A marketing and digital communications strategist who has presented at events including BlogWorld, unGeeked and TEDx, Murray is the founder of Social Media Club Detroit and has been featured in the Wall Street Journal and David Meerman Scott's book, "The New Rules of PR and Marketing." As a follow-up to his demystification of social media for the first Lunch & Launch, Murray will be emphasizing the growing importance of this new communication tool.

Admission to the lecture, set for noon to 1 p.m. at the Macomb-OU INCubator, is free and open to the general public. It will include a question and answer period. Attendees should bring their own lunch, though beverages and dessert will be provided.

The INCubator is located in the Velocity building at 6633 Eighteen Mile Road in Sterling Heights. Those interested in attending the lecture are asked to register in advance by contacting Joan Carleton at (586) 884-9324 or e-mailing to macinc@oakland.edu.

Upcoming lectures in the Lunch & Launch series will also include "Making Sense of Twitter," "Fully Taking Advantage of Linkedin," "Maximizing Exposure within the Realm of YouTube and Video," "Mobile Strategy and Apps," and more.

The Macomb-OU INCubator provides comprehensive development and support to start up and emerging businesses with a focus on the defense, homeland security, advanced manufacturing and technology sectors. For more information, visit the incubator website at oakland.edu/macombouinc.
