The Grizzly Gala is back! Mark your calendars for Friday, April 20, 2012 for an unforgettable night of food, fun and fundraising at the Royal Park Hotel in downtown Rochester. This bi-annual event benefits student scholarships offered by the Oakland University Alumni Association (OUAA) Scholarship Program.
Through the OUAA Scholarship Program, more and more students are able to achieve their dream of pursuing an OU degree. To date, the OUAA has awarded more than $1 million in scholarships to qualified OU students. The funding for these scholarships is provided through generous donations by alumni and community members, as well as revenue earned from OUAA events and programs. In 2011 alone, the OUAA awarded nearly $90,000 in scholarships to 39 deserving students. The OUAA is targeting a $25,000 fundraising goal this year in support of student scholarships..
OU alumna and Local 4 Newscaster, Lauren Podell (CAS ’08), will lend her talents to the evening as the event emcee. There will be an amazing strolling dinner, live entertainment and exciting auction items like a Detroit Tigers “Ultimate Fan Experience” package, two tickets to the Ellen DeGeneres show, and a Chicago weekend getaway.
