New "28" campaign helps freshman students stay on track

Oakland University is committed to helping students stay on track toward graduation. To assist with this effort, the university has launched the “28” campaign, which will provide events and resources to help freshman students achieve sophomore status by the end of their first year.

First-year students are encouraged to complete these four steps:

See an academic adviser to plan next year’s schedule.

Register for fall 2012 and winter 2013 classes beginning Wednesday, March 28 (registration dates are determined by class standing and earned credit hours.)

Apply for financial aid for 2012-13 and be sure the current OU bill is paid in full (the FAFSA is available beginning January 1, 2012, at fafsa.gov.)

Achieve 28 credits and earn at least a 2.0 GPA (registering for summer classes is recommended for students who have not earned 28 credits by the end of their first year.)

More information about the “28” campaign is available at oakland.edu/28.
