Music ensemble to perform in Meadow Brook Hall's historic ball room
The Oakland University Department of Music, Theatre and Dance is once again partnering with Meadow Brook Hall to present the second annual Meadow Brook Music Society "Chamber Music Series" in the hall's dramatic two-story Tudor Revival ballroom.
The first of three events planned this season features the Oakland Chamber Players performing works by Vaughan Williams, Brahms, Chausson and Paray. The players include tenor Drake Dantzler, alto Alta Dantzler, violinist Elizabeth Rowin, violinist Velda Kelly, violist James Greer, cellist Nadine Deleury and pianist Mary Siciliano, piano.
The event will take place at 5 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 11. Tickets for each performance are $20 for the general public and $10 for OU staff and students.
Two additional events in the series include the Oakland Chamber Players with classical guitarist Bret Hoag on Sunday, Jan. 29, and an Oakland Chamber Players concert presentation by Detroit Chamber Winds & Strings on Sunday, March 4.
A wine-and-cheese afterglow will be held immediately following each of the three concerts, providing an opportunity for guests to meet the performers. Tickets are $15.
