Despite the volatility of the world economy and the unique financial challenges Michigan has been facing over the past several years, the Oakland University Endowment investment program has produced an average annual rate of return net of fees for the past 20 years of 9.1 percent. The NCSE Study of Endowments for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2010, revealed that Oakland’s endowment performance exceeded its peers for the one-, three-, five- and ten-year periods. Endowment investment performance net of fees for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2011, was 19.68 percent. The endowment investment pool is presently well diversified, using 20 sector-specific investment managers. The current investment adviser is UBS Financial Services Inc.
