Participate in the 2011 AUFD drive now through Thursday, Dec. 22

The All-University Fund Drive is now underway and organizers hope to raise $240,000 in combined contributions to Oakland University, the United Way for Southeastern Michigan and the Black United Fund of Michigan.

Payroll deduction pledges can be made by submitting a signed AUFD payroll deduction authorization form. Employees also can make credit card gifts online via the AUFD website. The campaign will conclude on Thursday, Dec. 22.

University President Gary Russi will again generously match gifts made to the university with 50 cents on the dollar up to $5,000. Additionally, this year Dr. Russi is offering a special match for employees and retirees who make a new planned gift.

“Employees determine where their contributions go,” said Starr Cornell, director of Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving. “Every donation, regardless of size, is significant because when those closest to the university demonstrate their belief in the institution, it signifies to alumni, community members and others that Oakland’s education, research and students are worthy of their support too.”

This year’s co-chairs for the AUFD are Michelle Piskulich, associate provost; Theresa Rowe, chief information officer for University Technology Services; Pat Nicosia, retired director of Budget and Financial Planning; and Jane Bingham, professor emeritus of Reading and Language Arts, School of Education and Human Services.
