OU students launch first international medical and dental service

Medical Brigades is a subchapter of Global Brigades, the world’s largest student-led global health and sustainable development organization. This year will be the first medical and dental brigade to Honduras for the Oakland University Medical Brigades chapter. This chapter is Oakland's  first student organization to launch an international community service project.  The group will depart to Honduras after final exams in December.  The duration of their medical brigade will be for six nights and seven days.  During the weeklong stay, they will travel to a designated impoverished village to provide basic medical care.

Funding is needed to provide travel for students to Honduras plus donations for basic care supplies.  A box will be available for donations in the Center for Student Activities in the Oakland Center for accessible donations.  Items needed include:

There is also a need for medical supplies and medication. If you have access to these specific supplies, please contact the Medical Brigades President Laura Collier (email: lecollie@oakland.edu). Any contribution received is deeply appreciated. Thank you for your support. Go Grizzlies!
