Young alumni at the DIA

On Friday, October 21, 2011 more than 40 recent graduates spent the evening in the “D” at the OUAA Young Alumni Night at the Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA).  Attendees enjoyed food and drinks before viewing the Detroit Revealed: Photographs 2000-2010 exhibit by contemporary artists on life in the Motor City over the past decade. Young alums also enjoyed live jazz during Friday Night Live held in Kresge Hall.

Stefen Welch, CAS ’05, and Peter Halabu, CAS ’08, who helped create and market the event, acted as the evening’s hosts.

The 2nd annual Young Alumni Night in the O’Rena is slated for February 15, 2012 at the Red Ox, across from OU’s campus.  The event will host a pre-game gathering to cheer on OU’s men’s basketball team as they take on Southern Utah in the O’Rena.

Stay tuned for more information on Homecoming 2012 weekend.  The Oakland University Alumni association is planning an inaugural OUAA tailgate prior to the Homecoming game on January 28, 2012.
