Meet Automation Alley Entrepreneur of the Year and others at Ideas 2 Business opening

The grand opening of OU's new Ideas 2  Business (I2B) Lab offers a great opportunity for OU and Cooley Law School students, faculty and staff members to learn more about how they can take advantage of the resources that can help them explore and launch a new business venture.

At the Thursday, Nov. 3, opening, attendees will also have a chance to tour exhibits, meet and network with more than a dozen successful entrepreneurs and others just starting a new business.

Exhibitors include Automation Alley Entrepreneur of the Year Paul Angott, president Angott Products, and president, Angott Medical Products. A 1970 graduate of OU's School of Engineering and Computer Science, Angott's major accomplishments as an entrepreneur include launching five companies, which collectively created more than 500 jobs. He is the inventor of 40 patents, raised more than $10 million for his entrepreneurial ventures and sold more than $100 million of his patented products. He has taken 30 products from concept to market, and has successfully built and managed national sales organizations.

Through Angott Medical Products, a startup in Wayne State University's TechTown's business acceleration program, Angott is developing a radiation-free, painless, low-cost, non-invasive medical device to screen for breast cancer which provides superior accuracy and immediate results. With greater sensitivity than current technologies, the device detects cancer at an earlier stage and has the potential to save 10,000 lives over time.

Meet him and other successful entrepreneurs, learn about I2B resources, network and find out about paid positions for students and volunteer opportunities, and enjoy refreshments at the OU INC hosted opening. Reserve your spot at aaevent2@oakland.edu. Ample parking available at OU INC or take an I2B shuttle from the OC to OU INC. Shuttle runs every 10 to 15 minutes beginning at 2:30.
