The new Ideas 2 Business (I2B) lab introduced this fall will help OU community's budding entrepreneurs -- students, faculty and staff at Oakland University and Cooley Law School (CLS) -- gain access to the support and expertise to move from the idea stage of a new business, product or service, into implementation.
To introduce the I2B to the community, OU is hosting an open house Thursday, Nov. 3, at 3 p.m., at OU INC in the Shotwell Gustafson Pavilion on OU’s campus.
Don't miss out: A shuttle bus will run every ten to 15 minutes between the Oakland Center (at Meadow Brook Road, between North and South Foundation halls) and OU INC. Plus, there's ample parking available at OU INC for those who prefer to drive.
At the Open House, you'll:
* Learn about the I2B resources available
* Tour exhibits and meet with successful entrepreneurs and others just starting a new business
* Network with others interested in start-up ventures
* Find out about paid positions for students
* Partake in refreshments
The formal program begins at 3:30 and features OU President Gary Russi; School of Business Administration Dean Mohan Tanniru; and School of Engineering and Computer Science Dean Louay Chamra, as well as special guest speakers Cynthia Grubbs, small business liaison, Michigan Economic Development Corporation; and Arnold Weinfeld, director, strategic initiatives and federal affairs, Michigan Municipal League.
