Nominations for Outstanding Professional Advising Award due Oct. 21

Nominations are now being accepted for this year’s Outstanding Professional Advising Award, which recognizes a member of the Oakland University advising staff for excellence in academic advising.

Academic advisers assist students in the development of meaningful educational plans that enrich their studies, promote the achievement of life goals, and work to empower students in their academic lives.

Nominees should illustrate extraordinary performance in support of Oakland’s mission as a distinguished educational experience. The award recipient will receive an honorary plaque to commemorate his or her achievement. Oakland University’s provost has provided the $1,000 stipend that accompanies this award. Furthermore, the award recipient will be nominated to represent OU at the national level for the National Academic Advising Association’s Outstanding Advising Award.

All students are invited to take a few moments to vote for their favorite OU adviser by visiting the website at oakland.edu/advisingaward.

The deadline for nominations is Friday, Oct. 21.
