This session will address contemporary topics in the field of children's literature addressed in the Children's Literature Assembly annual Master Class at NCTE. Subjects include, uses and abuses of children's literature, reader response, multicultural and international literature, bestsellers, children's literature courses, book illustration and design, and censorship.
The session will be held from 9:30 AM to 10:45 AM on Saturday, November 19, 2011.
Each year, the NCTE Annual Convention draws thousands of K-12 teachers, college faculty, administrators, and other educational professionals from around the world. They gather to hear award-winning speakers, share best practices, participate in workshops, and test the latest teaching materials.
