Apply now through Sept. 30 for December graduation
For students who expect to graduate this December, the deadline to apply for graduation is Friday, Sept. 30. The applications for both undergraduate and graduate students are available online.
Once an application is submitted, it is recommended that students complete a degree audit in the SAIL system. The university will conduct an audit after final grades are available. For information about a degree application or diploma, call (248) 370-3452. Students with questions about degree requirements should contact their adviser.
For all graduation needs, degree candidates are encouraged to attend the fall 2011 Graduation Fair from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 8 and Wednesday, Nov. 9 in the OU Bookstore, located on the lower level of the Oakland Center.
Students can stop by the Academic Affairs table to obtain commencement confirmation and pick up their guest tickets. Guest tickets are required and are only available at the Graduation Fair. Students also can purchase graduation regalia, announcements, class rings, diploma frames and more. For more information, visit the Graduation Fair website.
Undergraduate students eligible to receive university honors (GPA 3.6 and above, with at least 62 credits completed at Oakland) and/or school, departmental or conciliar honors will receive their honor cords to wear during the ceremony at the registration table when they receive their name card on the day of the ceremony. Commencement exercises for August and December degree candidates will take place on Saturday, Dec. 17, in Oakland’s athletic O’rena. The ceremony schedule is as follows:
9 a.m. – College of Arts and Sciences School of Education and Human Services Bachelor of Integrative Studies
1 p.m. – All masters and doctoral candidates
5 p.m. – School of Business Administration School of Engineering and Computer Science School of Nursing School of Health Sciences
