Departmental Time Entry (DTE) for Bi-Weekly/Hourly (BW) Employees - Entering & Approving Time

As part of the Oakland University Lean Initiative, the Payroll Office is currently implementing Departmental Time Entry (DTE) for Hourly/Bi-Weekly (BW) Employees. This process is similar to DTE for Students, which was implemented in June, 2010.

DTE for BW began in July, 2011 with a pilot group that included five timekeepers and approximately 150 employees from the following departments:
Phase II of the implementation process will take place in October, 2011 and will include most of the remaining departments. Notification has already been sent to timekeepers and approvers of departments who employ hourly or causal employees.  If you have not yet received information regarding this process or if you need additional information, please contact the Payroll Office, Tina Tyrer, tyrer@oakland.edu, x3034.

One of the many tasks of the OU Payroll Lean Initiative was to eliminate the hand delivery of paper time sheets and time cards to the Payroll Office every pay period. The lean process has resulted in the following:
