New Student Convocation set for 3 p.m. on Aug. 31

Incoming freshmen and transfer students, along with their families, are invited to join faculty and university leaders for a formal welcome to Oakland University at the New Student Convocation, set for 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 31, in the O’rena.

The convocation includes a formal procession of faculty in academic regalia and presentations by campus representatives. A reception will take place immediately following the ceremony. Attire is business casual. 

Convocation speakers include OU President Dr. Gary Russi, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost Dr. Virinder Moudgil, Student Body President Benjamin Eveslage, Vice President for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management Mary Beth Snyder, Board of Trustees Chair Henry Baskin and Mary Tracy Bee, associate professor of biomedical sciences in Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine.
