Giao Huynh studies the mathematics of viral infection

Post doctoral fellow Giao Huynh, in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, studies the mathematics of viral infection. She recently published Alternating Host Cell Tropism Shapes the Persistence, Evolution, and Coexistence of Epstein-Barr Virus Infections in Human (Bulletin of Mathematical Biology, Volume 73, Pages 1754-1773). Giao’s coauthor is Frederick Adler, her former PhD dissertation advisor, at the University of Utah. Giao currently works with Assistant Professor and CBR member Libin Rong, who studies theoretical immunology. Her work with Rong is supported by a National Institutes of Health P30 award to establish a Core Center in Quantitative Biology.
