Betty J. Youngblood to join OU-Macomb community with new post
Betty J. Youngblood is OU's new Associate Vice President for Outreach and Executive Director of OU-Macomb.
Betty J. Youngblood is set to join the Oakland University community as the Associate Vice President for Outreach and Executive Director of OU-Macomb, according to university officials.
Youngblood has held a variety of leadership positions at universities across the country, including serving as vice chancellor and chancellor of the University of Wisconsin-Superior, president of Western Oregon University, and president of Lake Superior State University. She holds an M.A. and a Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota, and earned her B.A. from Oakland University. She is a native of Macomb County.
"Dr. Youngblood has the perfect mix of experience, vision and leadership qualities to take Oakland University's outreach efforts in Macomb County to new levels," said Oakland University Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost Virinder Moudgil. "I look forward to working with Dr. Youngblood and her team in the years ahead."

Committed to expanding access to higher education in Macomb County, Oakland University currently provides eleven undergraduate, nine graduate and seven certificate and endorsement in three convenient Macomb County locations. These include Macomb University Center and the Macomb Intermediate School District, both in Clinton Township, as well as the Anton/Frankel Center in Mt. Clemens. The university also has partnered with Macomb Community College to provide the uniquely advantageous concurrent enrollment program Macomb2Oakland.
