Athletics to host tryouts for the next Grizz mascot April 6
Oakland University's Athletics department is looking for spirited students interested in serving as the next Grizz mascot during the 2011-12 academic year. Applications will be accepted through Tuesday, April 5, and tryouts will be held on Wednesday, April 6.
The Grizz mascot responsibilities include:
Attending all OU basketball games (games may be split by multiple mascots)
Promoting in-game participation and school spirit
Assisting with in-game promotions
Practicing good sportsmanship at all times
Refraining from speaking at all times
Posing for game-day and special event photos
Grizz mascots will be paid $30 per game performance and be invited to participate in various athletics-related events. Download the Grizz mascot application here.
A meeting for all accepted mascots will take place on Thursday, April 14.
Additionally, the OU Grizz Gang is seeking applicants for the Executive Board positions of president, vice president, communications coordinator, finance coordinator, campus/community and historian/technology coordinator.
Grizz Gang applications should be submitted to the Grizz Gang mailbox at the Center for Student Activities, located in room 49 of the Oakland Center, or emailed to grizzfan@oakland.edu by Friday, April 8. Download the Grizz Gang application here.
