Currently, the ERL is cohosting the six week "Chinese Workshop: An Introduction to Chinese Language and Culture." We are also featuring the "Making a Difference: The Fight for Civil Rights" display and bibliography in conjunction with the Detroit visit of Marian Wright Edelman. Past events have included Pakistan, Hispanic and Korean cultural celebrations and have included demonstrations, foods of the culture and storytelling. Last October, the Korean Culture Celebration & Exhibit explored the diversity of Korean culture and customs with Mi Dong and traditional Korean music with Yoon Hee Choi & Group. A light Korean lunch was also provided. If you are curious and want to find additional materials on other cultures, you can search our catalogue using the term "Diversity Collection." The ERL hopes to partner on future cultural events – if you are interested, please contact the ERL. |
The
ERL has a tradition of serving not only the SEHS and OU populations,
but also celebrating the diverse cultural wealth of our local community.
Supported by the breadth of the ERL's collections, we sponsor cultural events and displays to promote cultural awareness and understanding.
