New SBA Insight focuses on transforming lives through faculty research, new student spaces

The Winter 2011 issue of SBA Insight, due to arrive in mailboxes in March, illustrates the School of Business Administration's dedication to transforming lives and business education.

With a collection of articles that put a spotlight on the contributions SBA faculty members make in their fields, readers will get a sense of the breadth, depth and significance of the work underway in Elliott Hall.

With such an impressive record of research activity, SBA  faculty enhance not only the visibility

and reputation of the SBA and OU, but also learning in the classroom by sharing the latest advances in

their discipline with students. The featured articles represent only a small subset of many exceptional ongoing research projects.

This activity clearly makes a difference for our students. As does the SBA's dedication to creating communities within the school to help students enrich their strong business education through connections and networks by creating spaces that encourage educational and social interactions among students, faculty, alumni and other professionals.

In this issue, you'll read about -- and see pictures -- of the new Stinson Student Advancement Center which opened late last year. The Stinson Center fosters a student-centered environment, which when combined with other offerings from the SBA, that is critical to fulfilling the SBA's objective of educating and preparing students for success. Read the article and learn how the new center offers both technological and collaborative opportunities to expose students to diverse and distinctive learning opportunities, and networking and social experiences that will prepare them for a competitive workplace.

You can read about all this, and more, in the Winter 2011 issue of SBA Insight online now -- or when it is delivered in late March.
