This year’s European Celebration Night promises to be full of delicious fare and delightful entertainment. The event is set for 4-7 p.m. on Friday, March 4, in the Oakland Center Gold Rooms.
Hosted by the International Students and Scholars Office, the event features live performances by OU students and community members and a wide variety of European cuisine.
There will be music by the French guitar and violin, Scottish bagpipes, German harmonicas and British singing. Traditional folk dances will be performed from nations such as Greece, Albania, Slovakia, Poland, Romania, Ireland and Scotland.
Special European dishes will be served, such as Greek spanakopita, German potato pancakes, Italian cannoli and lasagna, Spanish paella and more. For those with a sweet tooth, there will be Czech crepes with berries, British apple crumble, baklava, churros with chocolate dip, German Nuss Strudel and French mousse, among others.
European Celebration Night is sponsored and organized by a number of campus departments and organizations such as the Center for Multicultural Initiatives, Center for International Programs, Albanian American Student Organization, Association for Women in Communication, French Club, Gay Straight Alliance, German Club, Habitat for Humanity, International Allies Organization, InterVarsity Christian Fellowship, Model United Nations, Society for Human Resource Management, Spanish Club, Spanish Grammar Club, Students Towards Understanding Disabilities and the Student Activities Funding Board.
This event is free and open to all OU students, faculty and staff and OU community.
