Homecoming 2011 a great success

This year's 2011 Homecoming celebration was the best yet! Thousands of OU alumni and friends descended on campus January 28-30 for a variety of fun-filled events. The inaugural Alumni Welcome Reception at Meadow Brook Hall was a big hit among alumni of all ages. More than 130 people attended the Friday evening reception and helped kick off the weekend’s festivities. On Saturday, nearly 300 alumni and their families stopped by the OUAA’s annual Family Festival in the lower level of the Rec Center prior to the basketball games. During the basketball games, alumnus Leo Bowman (CAS '76), Karen Newman (CAS '82) and Bryan Barnett (SBA '98) were introduced as Honorary Homecoming Chairs.  Karen Newman, known as the “voice of the Red Wings” sang the National Athem. And as icing on the cake, the men’s and women’s basketball teams both reached 100 points as they toppled conference foe Centenary College.

Mark your calendars now for next year’s homecoming January 27-29, 2012.
