Academic Advising launches new website, hosts event Feb. 7
Academic advising has launched a new website for all Oakland University students. The site, oakland.edu/advising, features a fresh design and bold, easy-to-see buttons that link to some of advising’s most important pages, like degree requirements, help with registration, transfer equivalencies and more.
The new website includes more resources to help students get the most out of their advising experience. There is a “Find My Adviser” function that students can use to locate the appropriate adviser among the nine advising offices on campus. The function is searchable by a student’s major, school or college. Students will also see new major and minor search engines, and an FAQ section for immediate answers.
“The new, campus-wide Academic Advising website complements the important work our advisers do,” said Kim Schultz, director of the Advising Resource Center. "Advisers are here to empower students to identify, pursue, and achieve goals that prepare them to lead and serve in local and world communities.”
In conjunction with the new website launch, OU advisers will be available in the Oakland Center from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 7. Students can talk with advisers, learn more about the new website, receive giveaways, and have a photo taken in a photo booth.
