Beginning in January 2011, the OUAA will once again roll out applications for scholarships that directly benefit alumni and their family members. If you are a graduate of Oakland University who is currently pursuing a second degree at OU, you are eligible to apply for a Returning Alumni Scholarship. Maybe you are a parent or grandparent of a current or incoming Oakland University freshman. If so, they may qualify to apply for a Legacy Scholarship. Both scholarships offered are $3,000 non-renewable awards that will be distributed for the fall 2011/winter 2012 semesters. Students must meet the minimum GPA requirements to apply.
Applications will also be available to current OU students through the OUAA for the fall 2011/winter 2012 academic year. These scholarships are open to any undergraduate student with junior or senior status by fall 2011. Scholarship recipients must have two or more full-time semesters remaining in their academic program and must have a 3.0 GPA in their major field of study as well as a cumulative 3.0 GPA at OU. At least one of the scholarships will be awarded to a student representing each of the schools and the College of Arts and Sciences.
Applications and more details regarding these and other scholarships offered through the OUAA will be available on our website at oualumni.com/OUAAscholarships beginning January 3, 2011. Only completed applications received by March 1, 2011 will be considered. For more information call the Office of Alumni Engagment at (248) 364-6140.
