OUAA Award Recipients Honored

Ten inspiring and dedicated individuals were honored for their success in business, community service and volunteerism within the community at an award banquet on Saturday, November 6^th.

Two new awards were presented this year. The Alumni Community Service Award was presented to Tom Schramski (SECS ’78) product development resident engineer with Ford Motor Company, for distinctive service of a humanitarian nature or citizenship through community, public or OU service activities.

The Honorable Bryan Barnett of Rochester Hills (SBA ’98), accepted the Outstanding Young Alumni Award. This award recognizes alumni who have demonstrated the worth of their education through their post-college achievements and generally have graduated within the last ten years.

Other awards and recipients include:

• Distinguished Alumni Service Award, Craig Stinson (SBA ’84), chairman, Norma Group GmBH;
• Distinguished Alumni Achievement Award, Robert Gebbie (CAS ’76), partner, COO & CFO, Natural Bridge Solutions;
• The Odyssey Award:
  •  the late Bethany Broadwell (CAS ’97), writer and web designer;
  • Dr. Steven Gaynor (MAT ’78), retired superintendant, Bloomfield Hills School District.
• The Spirit Award:
  • Matthew Karrandja (CAS ’97), account manager with Trialon Corporation;
  • Thomas Schaeffler (SBA ’85), executive VP & COO, Credit Union One.
• The Honorary Alumni Award was presented to John and Marie Pino, owners of the Pino Insurance Agency.
