Portfolio Workshop and Discussion with Jim Schaefer Monday, Nov. 8

Journalism and communication students are invited to bring their resumes, cover letters, and portfolio pieces to a portfolio workshop and discussion on November 8 in Gold Rooms B and C in the Oakland Center.
Portfolios will be evaluated at 6:00-7:30 and 8:15-9:00 by professional journalists and OU journalism faculty.
At 7:30, Jim Schaefer "talks truth" about new journalism and Pulitzer prizes, with a book signing to follow. Jim Schaefer and ML Elrick are the Free Press reporters who uncovered the text message scandal that led to the resignation of Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick. Their coverage earned a Pulitzer prize.
The university community is welcome to attend this event which is sponsored by the Society of Professional Journalists, The Oakland Post, OU Journalism Program, and the Center for Student Activities at Oakland University.
