OU president to host live internet chat on Friday, Oct. 22

Oakland University President Gary Russi is inviting members of the campus community to join him in a live Internet chat from noon to 1 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 22.

Using the convenience of a moderated Elluminate chat session to expand existing modes of communication on important university issues, President Russi will look to answer questions posed by faculty, staff and students.

Those interested in joining the conversation need only have an active OU e-mail account. User names will be visible in the chat room participant window, but in the interest of promoting frank and open discussion, questions and answers will be posted anonymously to the dialogue window.

Depending on the level of participation from the campus community, President Russi will look to respond to questions and concerns from as many participants as possible. He may also provide additional information in future online forums and other communication vehicles.

To join the session, visit the website, click on Elluminate Live! Manager User and login using a NetID username and password. Participants can log into the chat room up to 15 minutes prior to the session start time.

To set a calendar reminder for the event, go to the website and click on the “Add to Calendar” link.

First-time users of Elluminate may be prompted to download software, which will take between two and 20 minutes depending upon the Internet connection speed. To pre-configure a system with the required software, visit http://www.elluminate.com/support/.
