Alumni and friends gather for special recognition
Come out for a pleasurable evening as we recognize your former classmates at the 16th annual Alumni Awards Banquet on Saturday, November 6 in the Oakland Center Banquet Rooms with a reception beginning at 6 p.m, dinner and program immediately following at 7 p.m. Ten inspiring and dedicated individuals will be honored for their success in business, community service and volunteerism within the community.
Two new awards are offered this year. The Alumni Community Service Award recognizes distinctive service of a humanitarian nature or citizenship through community, public or OU service activities. Tom Schramski (SECS ’78), product development resident engineer with Ford Motor Company will be accepting this award.
The Honorable Bryan Barnett of Rochester Hills (SBA ’98), will accept the Outstanding Young Alumni Award. This award recognizes alumni who have demonstrated the worth of their education through their post-college achievements and generally have graduated within the last ten years.
Other awards and recipients include: Distinguished Alumni Service Award, Craig Stinson (SBA ’84), chairman, Norma Group GmBH; Distinguished Alumni Achievement Award, Robert Gebbie (CAS ’76), partner, COO & CFO, Natural Bridge Solutions; The Odyssey Award, the late Bethany Broadwell (CAS ’97), writer and web designer; and Dr. Steven Gaynor (MAT ’78), retired superintendant, Bloomfield Hills School District. The Spirit Award, Matthew Karrandja (CAS ’97), account manager with Trialon Corporation; Thomas Schaeffler (SBA ’85), executive VP & COO, Credit Union One. The Honorary Alumni Award will be offered to John and Marie Pino, owners of the Pino Insurance Agency.
