The next Go for the Gold is slated for Saturday, October 9, 2010 and alumni ambassadors will volunteer from 10:30am - 1:00pm. For more information regarding volunteering on October 9, 2010, please contact Luke Fleer, AAAP coordinator, at (248) 370-4749 or fleer@oakland.edu.
On April 10, 2010, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Office of Undergraduate Admissions hosted Go for the Gold, a campus-wide recruitment event for prospective students and their parents. Nearly 1,000 guests took advantage of a variety of sessions, from student activities and residence life to academic sessions and a student resource fair with over 60 organizations. Campus tours started every fifteen minutes throughout the afternoon and students were guided around campus by student admissions ambassadors.
Alumni Admissions Ambassadors provided an exceptional first impression with their enthusiasm and insight as they provided directions, handed out prizes, and answered a variety of questions for prospective students and their families. While welcoming these guests to campus, ambassadors shared their OU experience with scores of students. In the afternoon ambassadors collected nearly 500 evaluations at the Alumni Relations table from prospective students in exchange for a free OU t-shirt.
