Hopefully you are enjoying some of the many benefits of the M2O program, however, sometimes it can be a challenge navigating two schools. The "What every M2O student Needs to Know" feature of this newsletter will provide you with quick reminders of important dates and things you should be doing to stay on track to acheive your goals.
Get to know your Academic Adviser(s) - Each semester you can meet with your OU Academic Adviser and your MCC Counselor at the same time at OU-
Macomb's M20 Advising Days. The next advising day is scheduled for Wednesday, January 19, 2011. Appointments are available from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Call the OU-Macomb Office at (586) 263-6242 to schedule your advising appointment.
Still undecided about your academic major? OU provides advising specifically for those who are undecided at Oakland's Advising Resource Center.
Requesting Transcripts - As an M2O student, you don't have too! At the end of each semester, your Oakland University transcripts are automatically sent to Macomb Community College and your Macomb Community College transcripts are automatically sent to OU!
Registration - Register for your classes early so that you can be sure to get the schedule you want! You can register for your Winter 2011 OU classes right now. Be sure to view OU schedule of classes. You can register for your Winter 2011 Macomb Community College classes beginning November 10.
Financial aid - All M2O students seeking financial aid, must apply through Oakland University. If you have applied for financial aid through Macomb Community College, you will need to update your FAFSA with OU's school code 002307. For more information, please contact OU's Finacial Aid Office at (248) 370-2550
Paying your tuition bill - Remember, you will receive bills for each school for which you have registered for classes. You must pay your Macomb bill when it is due. The payment deadline for Macomb Community College Winter 2011 is Decembe 7 - Payment in full due by 7pm for registration from November 10-December 5. Payment in full must be recieved within 4 days from date of registration from December 6 forward. If you are a financial aid recipient, your OU tution will be deducted from your financial aid disbursement and you will recieve a refund with which to pay for your Macomb bill.
What is the maximum number of community college credits you can complete to apply to your OU bachelor degree? - Usually 62 credits. Not sure if you are getting close to reaching your maximum number of community college credits? Check in with your OU Academic Adviser.
