Oakland University students and alumni are invited to attend two free career fairs this fall, offering an opportunity to make professional connections and potential work experience.
Oakland will hold its Fall Career Fair for business, liberal arts and human resources majors from noon to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 22, in the Oakland Center Banquet Rooms.
Participants will be able speak with representatives from diverse employers, including Aerotek, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Ernst & Young, Plant & Moran, Auto-Owners Insurance and JD Power and Associates.
“This is a great opportunity for OU students to connect with representatives from various industries,” said Wayne Thibodeau, director of Career Services. “From students seeking internship positions to full time jobs, the career fair is an excellent format for interacting with potential employers in today’s diverse marketplace.”
Additionally, Oakland will be teaming up with Lawrence Technological University to host the “Tech X 2” Career Expo from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 30, in Don Ridler Field House on the Lawrence Technological University campus. Participating employers will be seeking candidates in the engineering, computer science and information technology fields.
Representatives from Computer and Engineering Services Inc., Lear Corporation, New World Systems, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and other companies will be on hand to discuss potential job opportunities.
