Community Business Fair brings dozens of area businesses to campus
Oakland University students, faculty and staff are invited to attend the University Relations Community Business Fair from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 2, outdoors between North and South Foundation Halls. Nearly 60 area businesses will attend to display product and service features as well as provide valuable discounts and coupons for the OU community.
“We are pleased with the large turnout of businesses and hope our students, faculty and staff will come out and support the fair,” said Laura Mutz, communications director for University Relations. “The business owners support OU and hope to appeal to our student and employee population, which helps their businesses flourish and aids our area economy overall.”
In case of inclement weather, the business fair will move to the Oakland Center Gold Rooms.
Participating businesses have also been invited to reach out to students for internships or career placement opportunities.
Many of the businesses also participate in the Oakland University GO Card program, offering students, alumni, faculty and staff discounts throughout the year when an OU GO card is presented at the time of purchase.
