Congratulations!!! to Thanawit Pornthanomwong and Dr. Loh for the Best Session Paper Award in CITSA 2010

This great pleasure to announce that the paper entitled, “Nonlinear Control of a Heartbeat Model” coauthored by Thanawit Pornthanomwong and Robert N.K. Loh, has won the best session paper award in the session “Optical Engineering and Photonic Technology/Control Systems, Technologies and Applications” in the 7th International Conference on Cybernetics and Information Technologies, Systems and Applications (CITSA 2010) held in Orlando, Florida on June 29 – July 2, 2010. The paper was presented by Thanawit. The conference offered only best session paper awards and some of the best papers will be invited for journal publication. The research conducted in this paper was supported by an OU-Beaumont Multidisciplinary Research Award in 2009. The support of Oakland University and the Beaumont Hospitals is greatly appreciated. We would also like to thank Dr. Robert Hammond of the William Beaumont Hospitals for providing a set of the ECG data used in the simulation studies. Last but not the least, the valuable comments and suggestions of Dr. Bradley Roth of the Department of Physics and Dr. Edward Gu of the ECE Department are acknowledged and greatly appreciated.
