Varner Hall set to host the musical and comedy, "Dear Edwina"

Oakland University is set to host the touring musical and screwball comedy, "Dear Edwina," in Varner Recital Hall from June 4-6.

Set in Paw Paw, Mich., the play tells the story of Edwina Spoonapple, as she makes last-minute preparations for her musical advice show, which she performs live from her garage every Sunday morning.

Edwina and her friends work to untangle a series of conflicts and learn life lessons as the play unfolds. Sure to entertain all ages, audience members may come away with a new perspective on their own abilities to compromise and solve problems.

Each show is approximately one hour long. Performances are set for 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Friday, June 4, at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 5, and at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 6.

Tickets are $17 for the general public, $9 for students and $7 for all 10 a.m. matinee seats. Tickets are available at the Varner Box Office, which is open from 3-6 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday, and an hour before performances.
