By Dan Bodene, contributing writer

Meadow Brook Hall is hosting an afternoon of dining, drink and diversions at its “Wickets, Wine & Wheels” event from noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday, June 13.

Faithful to the spirit of leisurely Dodge and Wilson family weekends at the Meadow Brook estate, the event features live music, tours of historic Meadow Brook Hall and Knole Cottage, dancing, watch-and-learn croquet, bocce ball tournament, shopping for unique gifts, artists in the garden, classic car exhibit and children’s activities.

Summertime food fare also will be available at a concession stand and the Charming Sweets Bistro.

At 2 p.m., Charles Hyde, noted Wayne State University professor of industrial and automotive history, will present a lecture on Meadow Brook Farms and the Dodge brothers.

During the afternoon, Oakland graduate Steve Blackwood will perform Jazz Age melodies near the Garden Tent.

General admission is $25 for adults and $15 for ages 17 and under (children age 2 and under admitted free), which includes parking.
