The Oakland County Sheriff's Department has completed a thorough investigation of a reported abduction and sexual assault alleged to have occurred near Oakland University's campus on April 24, 2010. The investigation resulted in a finding that the allegation is false and no crime occurred. The person reporting the false allegation has been formally charged with Filing a False Report of a Felony. There are no safety or security concerns for the campus community relative to this false report.
