Voting for OU Student Congress positions open until March 31

Ballots for Oakland University Student Congress positions are being accepted via electronic ballot box until 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, March 31. The voting Web site is oakland.edu/voteou. Votes can be submitted only through the Web site.

To vote, students must access the site and submit their OU email address and password. The ballot can then be filled out and submitted. The ballot also can be viewed without voting by clicking on an election link at the bottom of the voting site.

Candidates for president/vice president are:
Candidates for legislator include Maria Willet, Ashley Marthen, Joshua Solomon, James Kaminski, Richard Spiegel, Andrew Gustafsson, Shakita Billy, Hawra Abogilal, Brett McIsaac, Nick McCormick, Ashley Forton, Christina Quigley, Trang Le, Steve Cox, Matthew Parks and Stephanie Love.

In addition, a referendum question is up for a vote:

“Should the following question be adopted? (Yes/No) To better fund club sports at Oakland University, the addition of the Department of Campus Recreation Funding Board (DCRFB) to fund the group of directly funded student organizations, and have five percent (5%) transferred to them from the Student Activities Funding Board (SAFB), leaving SAFB with twenty-four percent (24%). All other percentages remain the same.”
