Jacquelyn Wagner, MTD alumna, to perform Gala Recital

Jacquelyn WagnerOakland University alumna Jacquelyn Wagner will return to Varner Recital Hall on Sunday, April 11, 2010, 7 p.m., to perform a Gala Alumni Recital, with pianist Amanda Sabelhaus.

The program will include works by Brahms, Clara Schumann, Robert Schumann, Palomo, Verdi, Wolf and Wagner. This event is free of charge and open to the public.

Ms. Wagner sings Fiordiligi in Cosi fan tutte with Opéra National du Rhin, Donna Anna in Don Giovanni with Opéra de Lyon, and Contessa in Le nozze di Figaro with Theater Basel in the 2009-10 season, in addition to returning to Deutsche Oper Berlin for further performances of Micaela in Carmen and Contessa in Le nozze di Figaro. She is the second prize winner in the 2009 Queen Sonja International Music Competition and recently won second prize in the Francisco Viñas International Singing Contest, and the Renata Tebaldi International Voice Competition. She is also the recipient of a Fulbright Study Grant.

Ms. Wagner received her Master of Music at the Manhattan School of Music and Bachelor of Music from Oakland University and received additional training at the International Institute of Vocal Arts. She will be honored as Outstanding Music Alumni during the Eleventh Annual Department of Music, Theatre and Dance MaTilDa celebration, held Monday, April 19, 2010, at the Royal Park Hotel in Rochester.
