Susmit Suvas is awarded a grant from the National Institutes of Health

CBR member and Assistant Professor Susmit Suvas, of the Department of Biological Sciences, was recently awarded a two-year, $402,962 grant from the National Institutes of Health. Suvas, whose laboratory focuses on the immune system, will study the Role of Corneal Neuropeptides in the Pathogenesis of Herpetic Stromal Keratitis, an infection of the eye by the herpes simplex virus.
